Résumé

Les Cercles Conteurs résultent de la réflexion collective de conteur.euse.s, enseignant.e.s, éducateur.ices autour des travaux de Suzie Platiel, ethno-africaniste émérite du CNRS.

Ce mémoire de formation de formateur.ice.s reprend les appuis théoriques de ce dispositif, puis analyse sur la durée la pratique des Cercles Conteurs animés par une Conteuse du Puy de Dôme, Nathalie Thibur, en milieu scolaire. L'observation et l'analyse s'attachent d'une part aux gestes professionnels de la Conteuse qui permettent aux enfants de s'emparer des contes et de raconter à leur tour. Ils analysent d'autre part les acquisitions langagières et sociales associées à ce dispositif.

This report details the theoretical support and the operating procedures of storytelling workshops for children in primary schools. The bibliographic part builds on S. Plaitel’s work, from which this type of set-up originates, and expands the literature review in an attempt to clarify the specific contributions of the orality of storytelling in the classroom. The observation of workshops led by a storyteller and then by teachers helps to set the professional gestures that invite children to tell stories in their turn. It also helps to highlight the specific learnings children get in storytelling workshops, in terms of language ability and the understanding of oral texts and memorization, as well from the perspective of socialization.
